Technologies Used

I used to following languages and technologies in the website:

php
php is used to combine the standard header and menu with the content for each individual page. php also manages the news, bulliten board/guestbook and contact form. The bulliten board posts are stored in a php file after having been checked for security risks. This is used instead of a database for simplicity, so the website can be hosted on a server without database facilities, and because it is less error-prone. The php files are available on request for others to view and copy if they so wish.
HTML, CSS
HTML is produced by the php scipts giving the content of the page, and a CSS stylesheet defines the visual style of the pages.
Flash using ActionScript & XML
The flash calendar loads the information about events from XML files. The menu and ActionScript to read the XML files was based on the XML-driven drop-down menu on kirupa.com and modified to suit this use.
RSS
An RSS feed containing the most recent five bulliten board/guestbook posts is available to the owners of the site.
